Update Your Public Website Theme & Landing Pages

December 1, 2025

Each public website has a corresponding theme associated with it which connects it to the Extender App for integration purposes.

Get Your OpenWater Program ID and Direct Program Link

Go back to your dashboard and click ‘Copy Link to Begin Submission’. This link, now copied to your clipboard is the link that users will visit to submit an abstract.

An example would be: https://ipc.secure-platform.com/a/solicitations/22/home

Take note of the number in the URL. In the above example, the number is 22. This number is the program ID.

Update Your Theme

The theme of your program needs to be updated for the purposes of integrating with the extender app as well as some header language. The theme will normally have been added or copied over by the support staff, but it is best you double check it.

Click on the left side navigation > Public Settings > Themes. Then select the theme for the conference.

In the Head Scripts section, ensure the ‘window.openwaterProgramId = ..’ is set to the program ID from the step above. In this case, it should be 22.

Next, go down to the Header section and update the conference name, location, and dates.

This will be reflected on the public website.

Click Save.

Update Your Public Website

Go back to the left side navigation and click Public Settings > Websites this time. Now choose the website for the conference that should have been added by OpenWater support staff.

Tab over to General and make sure the theme and logo are set correctly.

Next, tab over to Menu and Pages and edit the home page.

Update this landing page content, but most importantly, update the “Submit An Abstract” button to link to the Direct to Program link you copied in Step 1 of this section:

There are other pages besides the home page you can update as well. You can update the social sharing options by tabbing over to Social and filling out the corresponding details.

To see all your changes reflected, change the domain at the top of your navigation to the site you are working on and then click Public Website.
